Slam Pigs!/Pig Slam!
Man, it's been a while since I've posted stuff on this blog! If anybody was wondering what I've been up to since graduation almost a year ago, I've been working at Z2Live as a 3D Artist, moved to Belltown in Seattle, and generally just doing not-DigiPen in general. Even though it's been less than a full year since I've graduated, my DigiPen life feels like a distant memory now, both good and bad times.

Anyway, where's some stuff I've been working on outside of work, some good ol' personal arting I enjoy doing apart from 3D stuff. I picked up some pixel art skills way back in the day when I was an intern at Mikoishi in Singapore, and though it's been a good 5 years since I've created any pixel sprites, I've always missed making them.
And so since graduation I've been looking for a side project to work on by myself, and I was talking to Kieran Lampert one day and the idea of making a side-scrolling beat-em-up game came up. It's been a while since the birth of the idea, but I named this game "Slam Pigs"/"Pig Slam". Can't really decide on which one to go with yet, but you'll definitely be punching and kicking some pig asses. Here's some ideas and concepts I've came up with:
E-Hawk, based on Emmanuel.

And finally, an unnamed boss character.
T-Buster, based on yours truly.
Unnamed player character, based on Marcos.

And finally, an unnamed boss character.
I've got a lot more ideas and concepts done, but I thought I'll just slowly roll them out along with their pixel sprite versions as I get them done. So far here's Papa K, E-Hawk and T-Buster in their full pixel glory:

Since it's been a long time since I've done any pixel art, these took me ages to complete. Critique and comments are more than welcome, I'm not even sure if the techniques I used to create these are outdated, so anything helps. Hopefully I'll be able to find more time outside of work to get more of these done and share them with you in the near future.

The Floating Islands
Aaaaaand I'm finally done!!! With school, that is. It's been a gruelling 4 years, and I'm glad it's over at last.
Here's a piece I worked on whenever I had free time for school. I wanted to explore UDK and decided to create a small environmental piece. Maya, Zbrush, UDK.
And of course there are little peeps.
And here's the video of it in motion:

April Fools'!: Flying Red Horse
I was privileged enough to work on the April Fools' event for Metalstorm: Wingman for my internship at Z2Live. Only one word could describe my experience working on this horse: AWESOME.
Here's some screenshots I took from my iPhone:
Geekwire also featured it on their April Fools' article: http://www.geekwire.com/2012/april-fools-day-tech-biz-fun-games-eye-poked/

The GDC Chapter
I'm a lazy ass, that's why I waited till the eve of GDC to render these images in Marmoset.
*EDIT* After all the feedback I received at GDC I decided to fix these renders up a little, and add 2 more in-engine screenshots:
